Tamara Tol (from the picturesque village of Volendam, close to Amsterdam) has been busy with music ever since she was a little girl.  Music plays a central role in her life and Tamara used to tune in on every music channel on TV.

Even in grade school where she followed her classes properly, music was her favorite subject.  The school’s music teacher, being impressed by her vocal qualities, arranged a spot for her in the local church choir.  Very soon she was asked to sing the solo parts.  Recommended by her music teacher Tamara decided to take special music lessons apart from the ones in school.

Being only twelve years old Tamara entered her first talent contest and immediately ran away with first prize.  From that moment on Tamara knew for sure: Music was going to rule her life.  During her high school period Tamara was invited to sing in several local bands.  Looking back Tamara considers that period as being great fun, but also as being very useful as she gained a lot of experience singing different styles in different bands.  With a solid base through her professional education in music and acting Tamara developed into an all-round professional singer.  After graduating from high school she wanted only one thing: a career in show business.

Tamara increased her exposure to the public greatly by participating in the popular Dutch TV program ‘The Soundmix Show’.  In 1990 she had her first TV appearances. As a result Tamara got her first recording contract through a producer who was trying to put a duo together.  The duo was named ‘Ben and Tamara’.  Everything went very quickly after that.  They appeared in many TV programs with their single.  The duo had a memorable moment when it was asked to perform as the supporting act of the concert tour of ‘The Bold & The Beautiful’.

And then Tamara decided to go solo.  A highlight in her young solo career was the participation in the finals of the 1999 National Song Contest.  She sang the ballad ‘Coming Home’.  People were wildly enthusiastic.

The ‘Volendam’ singer is clearly one of the favorites and finishes high in the public’s vote.  The day after the song contest her single ‘Coming Home’ is released and she is invited by Paul de Leeuw to sing a duet with him in his TV show ‘Laat de Leeuw’.  The period after the song contest is very busy for Tamara.  Appearances all over the country, TV recordings and several diner shows follow one another quickly.  Tamara also traveled abroad to sing and entertain Dutch soldiers stationed in countries like Bosnia, Kosovo and Cyprus.

Currently the good looking Tamara Tol with the golden voice is working on a brand new album (both in Dutch and German language), produced by the well known producer / arranger Piet Souer in the Bolland Studio’s in Blaricum.  Except for cheery up tempo songs the album also contains warm sensitive ballads.  The single ‘Jouw Dag’ from the album was very successful just like her ‘Liefde van vroeger’.

Tamara is breaking through. In Germany she can be heard on the radio all the time and also in Poland and Belgium she is rapidly getting success.  Her ‘Zwei Alte Freunde’ entered second in the newcomer’s charts in Germany.  A bright future lies ahead!
